| During a lull in the conversation, Tate launched into her performance with gusto. Upon hearing the first chord, several of the guests dropped their silverware, and Tate saw a two peas roll onto the floor. As she continued, everyone turned; obviously to admire her performance, Tate thought. Pierre, laughing, got up and walked over to the piano, then deftly lifted Tate off the keys. How incredibly frustrating, thought Tate - she wasn't even halfway through the first movement! |
